My second book: In vintrospect

My second book is out! And this time, it’s in English. It’s a little different in another way, too: apart from one page, a bonus if you will, everything has already been published before.

It’s a collection of all the articles and short video texts I wrote during the 11 months I ran Vintrospektiv as a multi-media project and attempted to make a living off it. A few weeks ago, I lamented that I didn’t have anything tangible from that time, and thought that maybe it would be a nice idea to have all the material collected into a book.

Then I realised that since then I have learned the basics of design and layout (in the course of my studies of Media Informatics), so there was nothing preventing me from creating that book.

There are two ways you can get it: you can download it from this link as an e-book, completely for free. There are no further obligations whatsoever, and if you are happy with the e-book version, or don’t think you actually need this in your life, that’s all. Thanks for staying with me so far, and I hope browsing through the book is a little fun.

But if you are like most reasonable people and think that you should have this beautiful book in your shelf as a luxurious hardcover edition (109 medium-heavy pages in a square, 17 x 17 cm format, just as the cover picture above), then you can shell out 28 € and buy it from the shop of your choice. The ISBN is 978-3-384-45758-5, and I believe you can order it all over the world. (You can also get it directly from the publisher.)

If you are still reading this right now instead of looking at the e-book version, then here’s the back-cover blurb, especially for you: This lavish coffee table book presents articles and video scripts from Miron Schmidt’s retrogaming project, Vintrospektiv. It collects all material from the beginning in December 2020 to the end of the multimedia aspects of Vintrospektiv in October 2021.
